Upright
(Micah 7:2
"The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net." Micah 7:2 J
ust when humans began to walk upright is a matter of conjecture for the scientist and historian alike. It is commonly held and taught by public educators that millions of years ago, ape-like beings gave up walking on their knuckles and one day (or during a one hundred year or thousand year period) became homo erectus. Artist renderings of Java man and Lucy fill high school science text books in an attempt to confirm a faith in science and in man. Homo erectus? That means upright man. Who said man is walking upright at all? Micah failed to appreciate man’s evolution, it seems. Spiritually speaking man is still walking on all fours. Spiritually speaking, man walked upright in the garden of Eden. He has had trouble walking ever since.
If the truth be known, there are few in high school, college, or any of the academies of learning that have any idea of what an upright man looks like. The Bible says that there was none upright, none good. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The first man to walk upright since the first Adam was the second Adam, Jesus Christ. Once one sees what it is to really walk upright, he then has a choice to make. He can continue to spiritually walk around on his knuckles, or fall on his knees, repent, believe and rise for the first time- upright. “They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Ps. 20:8 -id
