Some Friends

Job’s seminary friends came to visit him
and astonished sat in silence
not knowing exactly where to begin
Then to the word of God did violence

With chapter: verse they made things worse
as they tried to teach Job lessons
with salt in wounds, they made Job curse
adding to his pains depressions

" If you’re right with God, you will be blessed
for God is just and righteous
Job, you must have sins yet unconfessed
when we are wrong, you see, God fights us."

Job was sores from head to toe
as he sat in pain on ashes
what God was doing he did not know
but the words of friends were lashes.

While the text was perfect, pure and good,
doctrine, right down to the letter,
doctors using pills not understood
make things worse, instead of better.
