Marble

Some saw a block of marble
the artist saw a King
with chisel and a hammer
he struck the formless thing
the chips flew in all directions
and it all seemed such a waste
but soon his vision began to show
that each stroke was wisely placed
God can make a Shepherd,
a Servant, or a King
the hammer and chisel is His word
and with take away more bring.  -id
