The lid, the lash, a duct for tears
two gems, two jewels between our ears
to show us creatures Who Thou art
and make a window for the heart
Designed by He Who is the Light
a glassy sea holds gift of sight
Iris, Pupil, Silver Cord
the eye, a witness to the Lord
To never look up and praise His Grace
with the pure in heart to seek His Face
is by default to choose the night
and deaf to God’s “Let there be light.” -id
