Stooping Down & Lifted Up

Jesus Christ, the Lord stooped down

As sinners cried for blood

The God of Grace made not a sound

As their words rose like a flood

Moses said she should be stoned

They asked what He would say

Then He who for my sin atoned

Stepped right into the fray

Let him who is without a sin

Be the first to cast a stone

And each convicted deep within

Left the woman there alone

“neither then do I condemn.”

“Go, and sin no more.”

When I am lifted up, you’ll then

Know what I saved you for
