Hopper
The grass was always greener
Just on the other side
“here” was always “leaner.”
He could never just “abide.”
He could not agree in practice,
or with doctrinal points he heard
And became a religious cactus
A prickly and real strange bird
He differed with every preacher
and would give his points of view.
He was a very dogmatic creature,
argumentative, through and through.
Last, he joined the congregation
Where he was the “only” one.
He wasn’t there alone five minutes,
before the fighting had again begun.
