Mission or Omission
"Why stand ye here gazing up into heaven?"
(Acts 1:11 )
Every life is a Book of Acts
and more than gazing up into heaven.
One day faith will face the facts and
that laziness is leaven.
I was waiting for a good idea,
I waited and I waited.
None seemed to come by here,
as I sat and meditated.
I thought I heard one’s footsteps
coming down the road;
but ‘twas my imagination
pulling a cart which had no load.
So, then my eye caught something,
an ant carrying a tiny crumb,
a little proverb -one thing-
about what could or should be done.
What’s the big idea,
waiting for some idea to think,
and you just sitting there,
with dirty dishes in the sink?
And why so much trouble in your head,
when you’ve not even made your bed?
He who’s faithful in little things
will stand with prophets, priests and kings.
Go to the ant thou sluggard,
consider her ways as wise,
and don't be a fool or luggard,
with the truth right before your eyes. -id
