Indignation
A
merica has become an indig-nation [sic]. Indignation is an (almost violent) emotional reaction of anger, outrage, scorn, and fury resulting from some perceived injustice or wrong. Living in a constant state of outrage is a chronic heart condition and is unhealthy, to say the least. Yet, this is where we are.
Social Media has made it possible to be continually appalled, offended, and outraged. Indignation is spread with the news of one indignity after another and one new variant of bad news or injustice going viral. All this is by demonic design. Both sides of every warring party lay claim to what they call “Righteous Indignation.” Satan smiles.
The Bible says, “the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”(James 1:20). We cannot fix the world, neither can we physically flee from its chaos, or board some new Mayflower. We can, however, know perfect peace in the midst of the storm. We can turn from the world’s so-called Magic Kingdoms with their electric parades and man-made incandescent lights, to the Kingdom of God. We can choose to live in and follow the eternal light of God’s Word. Jesus said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God…” It’s not America First, or Family First, Job, or even Children First (as precious and as important as they are); but the secret to peace is: God First. -id
