Good Vibrations
God hath put a new song in my mouth. (Ps. 40:3)
I
once knew a man who loved classical music. Notice, I said "loved." I think he knew every great work by heart. As if that was not enough, he was able to look at the surface of a long-playing record and tell the piece's name by the pattern of the groves etched in the vinyl. He could actually see good vibrations. Most people never noticed things like that. Most people never notice all the God-given gifts and wonders around them, and take hearing, seeing, tasting, and touching for granted. We often miss the meaning, the message, the purpose, and the wonder of God right in front of us. The Bible says that, "the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them for they are spiritually decerned." The Glories of God are everywhere if we would (or could) only see them. "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, the things that God hath prepared for them that love him" (1Cor. 2:9)." Notice again the word "love" in this verse. The Bible also says that "All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose (Rom. 8:28). All our senses are dulled by sin, and all man's vision dim, until we see ourselves undone, damaged and dead until we are turn around, repent and believe and trust in God. Once it dawns on us how much God loves us in sending his Only Begotten Son to die on a cross for us, then and only then, by grace through faith, do we understand that we were made "by Him and for Him," to know Him and enjoy Him. When we are born-again, God's song and God's love is etched upon our heart, and we begin to hear, taste, and see that God is good, and Sing! βLet the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord.β -id
