Psalm 22

Long before the Lord Jesus came
to take our place in sin and shame
David’s song, Psalm 22
there see Jesus die for you
A thousand years before that day
the words were written which Christ would say
My God, My God, I hear Him cry
when on the cross He is lifted high
by sinful man He is surrounded
they pierced His hands and feet
He forsaken and we astounded
hear Him the Psalmist’s words repeat
I would the world would wonder Why?
such words, Eli, lama sabachthani
Christ the sin offering and  sacrifice
what He did there would  for all suffice
A Savior to all would confess their sin
