The Peace of God

Put up thy sword once said the Lord
the Word needs not be saved
‘though led away with man-made cord
Truth walks on paths well paved

Although the Lord was Judas-kissed
and by a friend betrayed
the appointed cross must not be missed
nor sacrifice delayed

A heart at peace amist the storm
His meat, the Father’s will
the very reason He was born
to the Word of God fulfill

God’s servants also must not strive
but in God’s grace be brave
until with Christ we stand alive
in the Home beyond the grave.  -id
