After Shock
(Acts 16:30)
and then went off to sleep
in the darkness came loud the bang
God came down to rescue sheep
the earth was moved the prison shaken
God’s grace is proved the jailor wakens
and fears both charges and his hopes are gone
reaches for his sword but he was wrong
he heard a blessed voice that night
of Paul, God’s servant and calls for light
is surprised to see the Apostle’s face
but more surprised to see God’s grace
he steps upon a road well paved
asks “What must I do - to be saved.”
Believe on This One of whom we sing
as Savior, Shepherd, Lord and King.
Paul’s faith that night hell’s evil braved
and from the ruins rose a sinner saved -id
