Our Being
God is closer than we think
                                              He lives not far away.
As a fish thinks not to drink
                                              the ocean, sea, or bay
In which it swims as unaware
                                              God is here and everywhere
as His creation we live and move
and in Him have our being
                                              faith connects us, also proves
as the eye was made for seeing.
He is closer than our pain
He knows our joy and sorrow
Both the ocean and the rain
each drop from Him we borrow
“Be still,” He said “know I am God”
He made us for His pleasure
His Word alone the rule and rod
and His Love beyond all measure
The Unknown God is known by Grace
                                              the rugged cross His Altar
alone in Jesus we find our place
and our life a song and Psalter. -id
