Around the Son

God made the sun with gasses
that burn with fiery waves
and as each day earth passes
it obeys God's laws and ways
we spin and turn but once a day
with a morning and a night
as if to teach us all to pray
and thank the Lord for light
our planet goes around the sun
on a journey we call a "year"
we count each trip until we're done
then to our LORD draw near
and give an answer for all we've done
with all those nights and days
and what we did with God's own Son
Did we live to give Him praise?
