Walker

For years he was a ‘Wiz’
before he was a ‘Was’
but that’s the way it is
a man is what he does
In youth he sure was fast
and who knows what he knows
but if he runs, he will be last
well, that’s the way it goes. 

But life is for the living
and we learn along the way
more than getting, it’s in giving
what you do, more than you say

First we crawl along the floor
long before we jump and run
spread our wings and then we soar
but  fold them when we’re done
now we walk a slower pace
but still a we’re young at heart
what we learned,  we learned by grace
