Wonders 

The signs are good and so are wonders

But ask for either and faith blunders

The Word of God already given

A cross into the earth was driven



Evil generations want a sign

Faith has something more sublime

While Jonah was thrown into the deep

Faith will jump and into waters leap



Should it hear from Christ’s lips, “come”

The thing requested is already done

Peter leaves the little fisher’s boat

Nor does wait or need to take a vote



This does not mean that God won’t heal

Or move when children do appeal

But the greater faith needs no balm

Well or sick, Christ is faith’s great calm
