on Heroes

David is not my hero
my Savior or my King
although I love his Psalms
and I love to hear him sing
and while yes he killed the giant
and he was very brave in war
not always on God reliant
Now Jesus! He was more.
Christ is my example,
my Master, Lord, and Friend
His life and cross are ample
He’s the beginning and the end.
The best of men all have their faults
and may disappoint us when they sin
Jesus withstood all dark assaults.
 I find no fault in Him -id
