Don't Worry

When people disappoint thee
Or the crop you planted failed
The ship you sent was lost at sea
As into a storm it sailed.

When the dream you dreamed was stillborn
Or the reinforcements never came
You're at the grave of wishes mourned
And you walked like Jacob lame

Know God does all to bless thee
when we are most weak—we’re strong
God’s hands of grace caress thee
the vine and branch to Him belong.

He did not fail you then.
He will not fail you now.
Although you don’t know when,
and can’t imagine how.

Remember all the miracles
and the trials God helped you through;
your experience empirical
with your five loaves and fishes few.

Before five thousand, Jesus asked,
“From whence shall we buy bread? “
Philip, stunned and sore perplexed,
simply shook his head.

This, Christ asked, ‘to prove him.”
Philip did not have a clue.
What came next, it would improve him,
“Christ himself knew what He’d do.”

Child of God, don’t worry
help is on the way.
We have His word and promise
our part to trust Him and to pray.

He shall supply  what's needed
And He knows what that is
the little sparrow He will feed
just remember, we are His.
