Best Book

Give me the book of books, that has endured down through the ages.
The place my faith still looks, for life upon its pages.
Give me the words of Jesus, which I know shall live forever;
and may its Spirit seize us,  and give the poor a treasure.
Give me the words of God above, of counsel and of wonder
let me read of God’s great love, or hear the prophets thunder
Speak to me of Christ the Lord who makes men new creations
The Book that calls itself a Sword,  brings down pride and nations
Oh blessed book, O book divine, renew and change this heart of mine
may from its pages power leap, and give me words we both must keep- id
