Every Goal to God

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image…" Ex. 20:4

This conviction helps me answer the question: What is important and what is my purpose in life? Goals are good. Try to imagine what it would be like to play basketball without hoops. God wants us to have goals. Every life needs to find its hoops and its hopes in God. (Jn. 4:34)

There are five areas of life in which we must have goals. Each of these areas must be dedicated to God.

A GOAL IS:

What command of Christ helps us to set goals, order our priorities, while giving us a promise? (Mat. 6).

The second commandment touches the danger of idolatry. What is idolatry? (Rom 1:22-25; Eph. 5:5).

Think about how a person can allow a thing, even a good thing to become god-like or an idol. How can that happen? How can we determine if a goal is right or not? In what way can we score a goal or a point for the wrong team? What is the test if a goal is good or godly? Every goal should ____________________________.
