I Am Where God Lives
"Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." Ex. 20:7
This conviction causes me to recognize my worth and my responsibility. It answers those who would have me defile myself. It also keeps me from depreciating or worshiping my body.
A Man is more than muscles, and bone marrow. (Eph. 3:17, 2:22). He is Where .
What is in a name? Companies are very careful about the use of their name. This means more than: don't cuss. I means "don't misuse God's name." What does this have to do with the third commandment? "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD in vain." Ex. 20:7
Christians were first call such in Antioch- Acts 11:26. You have no right to call yourself a Christian unless you are one. Names are important. Go to the super market- look at all the cans. How do we know what is in each? The label should match what is inside. So it is with the name "Christian."
You have no right to be called a Christian unless Christ is in you. Col. 1:27 (Christ in you the hope ) Eph. 2:22 (God wants you to be a holy habitation) Lk. 2:7 "There was no room for him in the Inn" Is there room for him in your heart? Rev. 3:20 "Behold I stand at the door and knock" How does Christ get inside me? Eph. 3:14-17. Jn. 1:11-12 _ Once you receive Him by faith, (place your trust in Him alone) then you may say- "I am where God lives."
LOOK IT UP 2Sam. 12:14; Dan. 1:8; Mk. 7:21-23; Ps. 139:16 THINK IT THROUGH What does the third commandment have to do with my body? How does this conviction affect how I see the issues of abortion, murder, sexual immorality, hygiene, dress, and diet? Have I dedicated my body to God? (Rom 12:1-2).
